It isn't something that can be stopped at will. Menstrual cycles are necessary for re--women to be able to have babies so it's something that naturally occurs throughout a woman's lifetime because they are able to have children until they reach menopause around the ages of 45 and 55.

Menopause is the end of the reproduction phase in a woman's life and only then will the bleeding stop.
